§ 4. Through streets.

  • There shall be a stop sign erected at intersections of all streets entering upon through streets in the city, and it shall be the duty of any person driving or operating any motor vehicle to come to a full stop before entering upon or crossing said through street. The following streets are hereby designated as through streets:

    Ash Street at its intersection with Third Street.

    Beech Street at its intersection with Benedict Street.

    Beech Street at its intersection with Third Street.

    Benedict Street at its intersection with Cedar Street.

    Benedict Street at its intersection with Matthews Street.

    Benedict Street at its intersection with Sycamore Street.

    North Benedict Street between the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad tracks and Truitt Avenue.

    Bradley Avenue at its intersections with Donald Street, Williams Drive, Evergreen Drive, Beech Street, Elm Street, Pine Court, Chestnut Street, Fletcher Lane and Cedar Court.

    Cedar Street at its intersection with Fifth Street.

    Cedar Street at its intersection with Finney Street.

    Cedar Street at its intersection with Third Street.

    Chestnut Street at its intersection with First Street.

    Chestnut Street at its intersection with Third Street.

    Cloverdale Road at its intersection with Third Street.

    Cloverdale Road shall be a through street except at its intersection with Illinois Route 29 (Fourth Street) and Second Street.

    Cutright Street at its intersection with Cedar Street.

    Elm Street at its intersection with Third Street.

    Elm Street at its intersection with Third Street.

    Fifth Street at its intersections with Gail Avenue, Matthews Street, Finney Street, McDowell Street and Ash Street.

    Finney Street at its intersection with Moffitt Street.

    First Street at its intersection with Pine Street.

    Hickory Street at its intersection with Third Street.

    Hoyt Street at its intersection with McDowell Street.

    Hoyt Street at its intersection with Sunnyside Street.

    Maple Street at its intersection with Third Street.

    Matthews Street at its intersection with Cutright Street.

    Moffitt Street at its intersection with Third Street.

    Pine Street at its intersection with Fifth Street.

    Pine Street at its intersection with Third Street.

    Santa Fe Avenue at its intersections with Matthews Street, Wilmot Street, Cedar Street, Chestnut Street and Pine Street.

    North Santa Fe Avenue and South Santa Fe Avenue, except where they cross Truitt Avenue.

    Second Street, beginning at the corporate limits on the southern boundary of the City and running in a northerly direction to the intersection of Walnut Street. From Walnut Street running in a northerly direction to the intersection of Cedar Street, then in a westerly direction on Cedar Street two (2) blocks to the intersection of Fourth Street.

    Seventh Street at its intersection with Pine Street.

    Sixth Street, at its intersection with Ash, Chestnut, Pine, Walnut, Elm, Beech and Hickory Streets.

    State Highway Route 29, on Fourth Street, from the southerly boundary limits of the City to the northerly boundary limits of the City except at the traffic control signals located at the intersections with Cloverdale Road and Walnut Street.

    Sunnyside Street at its intersection with Birren Street.

    Sycamore Street at its intersection with Hushaw Street.

    Sycamore Street at its intersection with Taylor Drive.

    Sycamore Street at its intersection with Third Street.

    Truitt Avenue at its intersection with Third Street.

    Walnut Street at its intersection with First Street, Third Street, Fifth Street, Sixth Street, Benedict Street, Cutright Street and Stanley Drive.

    West Truitt Avenue (or Truitt Avenue), beginning at the corporate limits on the western boundary of the City and running in an easterly direction to Second Street, except where West Truitt Avenue (or Truitt Avenue) crosses Santa Fe Avenue and Fourth Street (Illinois Route 29).

    Wilmot Street at its intersection with Birren Street.

    Wilmot Street at its intersection with Hoyt Street.

    Wilmot Street, except where it crosses North Santa Fe Avenue and North Benedict Street.
